Cutting Coordinator, Indiana Operations

 

Reports to:  Knú R&D Manager

Summary:  The Cutting Coordinator is responsible to collaborate with Knú design and manufacturing teams in Indiana and Mississippi to provide support to Best’s Fabric Warehouse and Cutting Division with respect to receipt of fabric and flat goods, scheduling of cutting operations, inspection of fabric, modification of cutting patterns, coordination of on-time shipping to appropriate sewing operations and coordination of recuts, with the potential of carrying these responsibilities to future cutting operations in Cannelton. The primary goal for the Cutting Coordinator is to organize all aspects of Knú cutting so that piecework cutting operators can complete their work without interruption or delay.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Knú design and manufacturing teams to assure all cutting requirements for scheduled production are addressed in a timely manner, cutting patterns modified when necessary and communication maintained regarding flow of cut goods to sewing operations,
  • Receive packing lists of all Knú incoming fabric and flat goods. Identify and correct any paperwork discrepancies. Print ID tags for receiving personnel and reprint missing tags. Assist in maintaining organization of inventory including disposal of aged surplus/remnant inventory,
  • Coordinate with production management to conduct batching and planning of the sequence of Knú cutting requirements and/or special loads,
  • Assure inspection of incoming fabric with special attention to width and potential pattern modifications that could be required,
  • Develop skills with pattern making software and generate new cutting patterns when necessary. Maintain organization of cutting pattern file directories and supply patterns to cutting operators,
  • Coordinate with the Production Office concerning the generation of patterns for flat goods and communicate with sewing operations to prevent shortages of cut flat good parts,
  • Monitor inventory levels of all Knú flat goods (Denim, anti-microbial, etc.) and coordinate with Purchasing to prevent shortages,
  • Compile Knú cutting performance data and generate and distribute reports.
  • Other responsibilities as may be required from time to time.

  • High degree of accuracy in recording and managing data,
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure in a detailed and organized manner,
  • Strong AS400 and PC skills including MSExcel,
  • Prior knowledge of Cutting Edge Desktop and AutoCAD software applications is a plus.
