JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:       R&D Associate

Reports to:    R&D Manager

Summary:  Position will assist with product development as they relate to bringing new products into production, in addition to enhancing and updating existing product lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for researching and processing engineering change request and engineering change orders.
• Works with manufacturing managers & supervisors to accomplish the ECR process.
• Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
• Interfaces with others in the organization to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
• Maintains procedures and processes relating to ECR approvals.

Job Requirements:

• Should possess strong analytical capabilities.
• Effective problem solving and decision making skills.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills
• Possess a strong attention to detail as well as an understanding of quality expectations in the upholstery furniture market.
• Individual should possess 3-5 years similar experience, preferably in upholstery furniture.
• Ability to work creatively and independently and able to function successfully in a team environment.
• Understanding of meeting deadlines and has a sense of urgency in meeting these deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
